Frequently Asked Qustions

Chicken subscriptions boxes

Do you offer a Satisfaction Guarantee?

Yes. We offer a complete 100% Satisfaction Guarantee within 30 days of purchase with every Punachicks subscription box order placed through our website.

Where do you ship to?

We can only ship within the state of Hawaii to a physical address via FedEx. Someone does not need to be present when box is delivered since boxes are well insulated, but it should be handled  appropriately by placing items in the refrigerator or freezer as soon as possible. Because we use FedEx for shipping we are unable to ship to post office boxes. Please select free shipping option when checking out.

How long does it take to ship?

Exact shipping times vary based on your location, but boxes should normally arrive within 1 business day after we ship them. Once the order is placed, we will begin processing your order. We ship all of our orders every Tuesday. The deadline to ship the next day and for the week is Monday 8am Hawaii time. Monthly subscriptions boxes will automatically go out on the same Tuesdays every month after placing your first order.

When will my credit card be charged?

Your card will be charged automatically upon placing an order.  Any changes that need to be made can be requested by contacting us at punachicksfarm@yahoo.com and we will do our best to accommodate all requests.

For recurring subscription boxes, your credit card will only be charged the day before we pack and ship out your next membership box.

Will I see a separate shipping charge?

No. Shipping charge within the state of Hawaii is included in the subscription price

How do I cancel my order?

Cancel your recurring subscription box anytime from your account or by sending us an email. If your box has already shipped, you cannot cancel that box.

Fruit & Veggie CSA

What's a CSA?

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. By joining a CSA you are supporting a system that helps the farmer by guaranteeing a market for their produce which adds to the resilience of the food system on the island. Customers will be rewarded with a fresh supply of organically grown produce.

What does the $100 subscription cover?

Your monthly subscription price covers one share of our veggie production for the month which equates to 4 ($25) weekly boxes of fruits and vegetables that will include a variety of what is in season at the time.

What if I can't make the pick up time?

We understand that life happens and there may be times where something gets in the way of picking up your CSA box during our Wednesday pick up window 12-5pm. Although we ask that you not make it a habit, we are definitely willing to work out alternate pick up arrangements for you if you call or text us at the phone number listed below.

How will the fruits and veggies be packaged?

We will have your CSA fruits and veggies in a reusable plastic bin that you can either take with you and return the next week or you are also welcome to transfer items to your own reusable shopping bag instead of taking the bin. We will require a one time $5 refundable deposit on the plastic bin that will be collected on your first pick up.

Can I cancel my CSA subscription mid-month?

Your CSA subscription is a commitment that you are making to the farmer that you will be purchasing veggies for the month and we are counting on your to honor that commitment, so we are unable to cancel or refund your subscription mid-month. You may, however transfer your subscription to another person or family if you choose to do so by notifying us of the change. Many CSAs require you to sign up for the entire season, so by only asking you to commit one month at a time, we hope that this is more of a flexible structure for our customers and for us as well, since we are still new to veggie production.

Are all the fruits and veggies organic?

All of the veggies that we produce on our farm are organically grown with the rich compost we produce from our other operations. We also produce bananas that are no spray (they may get a small amount of conventional fertilizer since we fertilize adjacent ulu trees). Some weeks we may include hydroponic lettuce that is no-spray and of very high quality produced from Rainbow Island Produce or fruits and avocados from our neighbors that are also no spray but may get a small amount of conventional fertilizer. All the produce will be locally produced by small farmers in our area that respect the land and want to do right by their communities.
