The land we will be leasing was previously in nursery crops, but has been out of production for quite awhile. There is a lot of rubbish to clean up like old water lines, pots, weed mat, etc that needs to be removed before they can turn the land over to us. They are making a lot of progress and have a crew on the site working to get it done, but we are still unsure exactly when they will be completely finished.
We are using our time preparing everything else that we can: pen frames are built, currently working on building a brooder at our house in Mt. View, doing a feeding trial with the azolla, and we are planning on going over to Shane Fox's farm in a few weeks to help process his broilers so we can get a taste of doing it on a larger scale.
We're not going to stress about the exact date that we will be able to get onto the land and are just happy that progress is being made and we are moving in the right direction.
