Aloha to all of our friends and eagerly awaiting customers,
I thought it would be a good time to give everyone an update of our progress. Our lease ended up starting a month later than we had anticipated, so the land got turned over to us on May 1. We had some additional grading done on the property and then moved on to the fencing project. Not having ever built a fence before, it was a good learning experience for us and turned out to be a lot more difficult than we expected! Fencing in rocky soil can be very challenging as it is, and on the day that we set what we thought would be our last post, we got news that there was a boundary mistake and we would have to move about 1/3 of our fence line over by 20 ft. All I can say is that it sucked, but we are happy to report that the perimeter fence was finally completed on Memorial day.
We still have to build several structures for processing and feed storage and work on our pasture grasses, so realistically we plan on having chickens available in August 2013. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
